Valuations underpin nearly all our financial decisions from home mortgages to major investment and corporate finance transactions.  Robust practice standards form the basis of high quality valuations.  RICS is the world’s leading qualification for valuation professionals and is highly respected by employers and clients the world over.

On 20th October 2010, the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) launched its Valuer Registration Scheme.  This ensures that every valuer who carries out valuations for clients has to be registered with the RICS.  This scheme assures the quality of valuations, increases the credibility of professional valuers and provides clients with a clearly identifiable designation for the best regulated and qualified professionals in this field.  It will reinforce professional standards and raise consumer confidence in the delivery of valuation advice.

The scheme applies to all members undertaking valuations, carried out under RICS Valuation Standards (“The Red Book”), which provide a regulated framework and practice guidance and standards adopted throughout the United Kingdom.  The Valuer Registration Scheme is now mandatory and will significantly raise standards through the auditing process.  It will weed out unprofessional valuers and overall raise the credibility of the valuation profession.

A RICS registered valuer should be your first point of call for providing you with a full spectrum of specialist knowledge, understanding and skills, including:

  • Reassurance
  • Our practice standards are renowned as the highest emerging practice on ethics, valuation reporting and technical methodology.
  • Protection – all RICS registered valuers are strictly regulated and monitored to RICS standards.
  • Expertise – our rigorous world leading qualification demands core technical expertise plus continuous training and development.

The partners of Edward Jackson, who have over 70 years combined valuation experience in the North West property market, are both members of the RICS Valuer Registration Scheme.  That gives potential clients the confidence that they will receive the ‘best advice’ when considering a property purchase as well as openness and transparency and clear reporting based on diligent investigations, market commentary and analysis.
